This was fantastic! I'm a huge fan of this era, and Creative Source is a new one for me. Thanks for getting them on my radar!

Kind of embarrassed to admit I knew precious little about Creative Source, so I appreciate the informed update, Robert! Their period proximity and make-up comparisons with Fifth Dimension makes me wonder what held back CS from more (if not mass) popularity, especially as Townson was managing CS!

It's easy to start with the labels: Both were relatively small (Soul City/Liberty for 5D, Sussex/Buddah for CS), but distributed by larger parents. Producers? Veteran pop producer, Bones Howe, for 5D for most of their popular releases (after Johnny Rivers and Marc Gordon produced their debut); relative newcomer, Michael Stokes, for CS...as you mention, he later gained expertise and fame, but I wonder if his lack of experience in '73 might've hampered the CS sound and radio hit-tage!

Comparing songs and songwriters would warrant a deeper dive than you'd want on your comment section here, but I enjoyed "going to school" and sitting in your Creative Source 101 class on this Saturday morning!
